DHS wins 2020-2021 NEIC All-Sport trophy

For the first time since 2010, Decorah High School has won the 2020-2021 Northeast Iowa Conference All-Sport Trophy.  This award is given to the school in the NEIC with the lowest overall point total earned from conference team placings in NEIC sports.  Decorah finished with a total of 29.5 points highlighted by championships in football, boys and girls cross country, boys basketball, girls and boys track and field and baseball.

Warriors top Saints in action-packed district semifinal

The South Winn baseball team (26-10) survived a thriller of a matchup with Saint Ansgar (23-9) on Tuesday evening in a district semifinal game at Shooky Fink Field in New Albin. The two teams have battled the past two years in substate games, and this postseason rematch was no disappointment with the Warriors coming out on top, 5-3.

No. 10 Vikes take win streak into districts

With nine straight wins to finish the regular season, the Class 3A 10th-ranked Decorah baseball team (28-5) is prepared to make a run in the postseason. The Vikings wrapped up the season with wins over Cedar Falls and Waterloo West earlier this week.

Triple play saves South Winn’s playoff prospects

The rain held off long enough Tuesday night, for the South Winn softball team (11-16) to host Postville (0-14) at home in their first playoff contest. The high stakes game went into an extra inning, but the Warriors were able to clinch the game in the eighth, walking away with a 3-2 win.
